Our Fibres

At Nomadica, every fabric tells a story—of the Earth, of ancient traditions, and of conscious craftsmanship.

We work exclusively with natural fibres chosen for their purity, beauty, and connection to life. Each material we use is selected with care: for its low environmental impact, its nourishing touch on the skin, and its ability to carry the essence of embodied luxury.

Here, we invite you to meet the fibres that shape our collections.

GOTS Certified Organic Rosepetal Fibre

Rosepetal fibre is a visionary innovation in sustainable fashion—crafted from the natural waste of rose bushes left over from the floral industry. Once the petals are gathered, they’re broken down through an eco-friendly, closed-loop process to extract cellulose, which is then spun into soft, lustrous threads.

The result is a fabric that feels like silk but carries the integrity of a plant-based, biodegradable textile. GOTS certification ensures that the entire process—harvest to dye—is held to the highest organic and ethical standards.

Naturally breathable, moisture-wicking, and hypoallergenic, rosepetal fibre is an exquisite choice for sensitive skin. It cools the body in heat and gently insulates in cooler weather. For the Earth, it offers a circular, zero-waste solution—transforming what would be discarded into garments of quiet elegance.

Born from beauty, designed for presence—this fibre reminds us that sustainability can feel like poetry on the skin.

GOTS Certified Organic Cotton

Our organic cotton is grown without toxic chemicals, GMOs, or synthetic fertilizers, using traditional farming methods that regenerate the soil, protect biodiversity, and prioritize water conservation. GOTS certification ensures transparency at every step—from ethical farming to safe dyeing and fair working conditions.

After harvesting, the cotton is gently ginned (separated from seeds), carded, and spun into fine threads without chlorine bleaching or harsh treatments. This care preserves the fibre’s natural softness, breathability, and strength.

Organic cotton allows the skin to breathe and move freely. It is non-irritating, making it ideal for even the most delicate bodies. Unlike conventional cotton—which contributes heavily to water pollution and pesticide use—our organic cotton uplifts ecosystems and communities alike.

This is cotton reimagined—not just a staple, but a sacred return to purity, simplicity, and alignment with the Earth.

Raw Ahimsa Silk

Ahimsa silk, or “peace silk,” is made in harmony with life. Unlike conventional silk, which requires boiling the cocoon with the silkworm inside, Ahimsa silk allows the moth to emerge naturally before the cocoon is harvested. This process respects the sanctity of all living beings.

Once the moth leaves, the empty cocoon is carefully collected, softened in warm water, and hand-spun into fine threads. The resulting fabric retains its raw, natural texture—less glossy than traditional silk, but with a rich, soulful depth and subtle sheen.

Silk is uniquely aligned with the body: its protein structure mirrors human skin, allowing it to regulate temperature, absorb moisture, and support skin health. Our Ahimsa silk is sourced from India, where ancient silk-making traditions are preserved by artisans who uphold ethical and sustainable weaving practices.

It is a fibre of reverence—one that wraps the body in grace and honors all life in the making.

Nettle Fibre

Nettle fibre is an ancient textile, known for its strength, resilience, and deep connection to wild Earth. Harvested from the stalks of wild-growing Himalayan nettle plants, it requires no pesticides, no irrigation, and thrives on marginal mountain land.

The process begins with hand-harvesting the nettle stems, which are then retted—soaked in water to break down the outer bark—and dried. The inner bast fibres are extracted, spun by hand or machine, and woven into cloth. The process is low-energy, traditional, and regenerative for local economies.

Nettle fabric has a linen-like texture with a soft, rustic charm. It’s naturally antibacterial, thermoregulating, and breathable—making it ideal for garments worn close to the skin. It wears beautifully over time, softening with each wash while retaining its structure.

Ancient, wild, and wise—nettle connects us to a lineage of Earth-woven textiles. It reminds us that beauty can grow where few things dare to root.

100% A-Grade Mulberry Silk

Mulberry silk is one of the most treasured fibres in human history—prized for its unparalleled softness, luminous beauty, and exquisite texture. Originating over 5,000 years ago in ancient China, this silk has long been revered as a symbol of refinement, grace, and imperial elegance.

Silk’s natural protein structure is remarkably compatible with the skin, making it deeply soothing, breathable, and hydrating. It helps regulate body temperature, supports skin health, and offers a sensuous second-skin feel that elevates both comfort and beauty.

At Nomadica, we use only the highest quality 100% A-grade Mulberry silk. Its smooth, continuous fibres create a fabric of rare clarity and strength—delicate yet enduring, timeless yet alive. Each piece made from this silk is an offering of luxury woven with intention.

This is silk in its purest form—a fibre that carries the legacy of ancient craftsmanship and the refinement of nature’s intelligence.
